Examinations

Your dentist will talk to you about your general health, please inform us if you have had any health problems, or are on medication from your doctor.

Before attending for a new patient exam, or if you haven’t been in for a while, we will ask you to fill in a short health questionnaire before seeing you. Please allow time for this before your appointment.

We will then look at your mouth, gums, tongue and top of throat to check the health of the tissues. Please tell us if you have noticed any swellings or discomfort. The gums will then be assessed.

The teeth will be looked at during your checkup. Please tell us if you have any sensitive or cracked teeth or fillings.

The dentist may advise you to have an x-ray, this is occasionally needed to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of dental decay and gum problems.
